Goddess Motherhood

This is a Goddess celebrating her motherhood and the bond between her and her child in her arms. This Goddess is made to honour the mothers and the journey of a woman to become a mother. It is all about the power of creation from her womb where all life comes from. The statue of fertility. Honouring fertility is a very ancient practise. The Mother has been worshipped in so many cultures. From Inanna to Isis to Maria. The power of the creation of life connects her to Mother Earth from which all life sprouts. The power to create life does mean that she has also the power to take life. It is the circle of life of Mother Earth that we honour and worship. Often The Mother is therefor associated with death. Her story is often about both life and death like the story of Isis and Osiris and the story of Maria and Jezus.

Dit is een Godin die het moederschap viert en de band tussen haar en het kind in haar armen. Deze Godin staat voor het eren van de Moeder en de reis van een vrouw naar moederschap. Ze staat voor de kracht van creatie van haar baarmoeder, van waaruit al het leven zicht ontspringt. Het Godinnenbeeld van de vruchtbaarheid. Het eren van de vruchtbaarheid is een eeuwenoude traditie. De Moeder is in veel verschillende culturen vereerd. Van Inanna tot Isis tot Maria. De creërende Levenskracht verbindt haar met Moeder Aarde waaruit al het leven ontspringt. De kracht van het leven scheppen verbindt haar met de kracht om leven te onttrekken. Het is de cirkel van leven en dood van Moeder Aarde die wij vereren en aanbidden. Hierdoor wordt de Moeder ook geassocieerd met de dood. In haar verhalen komen de thema’s leven en dood daarom beiden voor zoals in de verhalen van Isis en Osiris en in de verhalen van Maria en Jezus.
